Bringing Back the Backless…Forever!

It’s summer time, which for most people means bikinis, perfect bodies, and clothing with a little less fabric.

For those of you who are looking to show of your bodies, still trying to get in shape (you got this, keep it up!), or just want to stand out in an eye-catching get-up at a party, here’s what I think. Go backless.

I started wearing backless shirts and dresses early on, then I got addicted, and it never left my system. Here’s why:

1) Backless dresses totally follow the saying “business up front and party in the back.” Because of it’s design, often these garments are more plain and classy from the frontal view. Yes, you may not stand out as much in pictures, but it is what happens in the night and the mingling that really counts. If you had eyes on the back of your head, then you’d notice the attention you get when you’re facing inward chatting up a crowd.

2) Six pack? What six pack? No matter what size you are, all women have dealt with the unwanted stomach fat that they can never seem to get rid of. Don’t let that feeling ruin how you enjoy your night. Unless you’re a supermodel or have dedicated your life to fitness (or just a six pack) not all of us can utilize those tiny waists to stand out in a crowd. Besides, women are meant to give birth which explains why having a rock hard six pack may not always be ideal. Why worry all night about sucking in when you’ve got a sexy back that needs attention!

3) But what bra do I wear? Sometimes, if the dress has more protection or fabric in the front, I like to go bare. That’s why pushups are worth it! Otherwise, if it will be a cold night or outdoor event, my go-to is the Nu Bra. It sticks on your skin and can also give you a little push-up and cleavage depending on how you use it. It’s downside? If you’re like me and like to dance all night and probably sweat a little, it can un-stick and run away from you. (Trust me, I did a dance performance with them and had 4 boobs at the end of the routine…) Then I would suggest Victoria Secret’s 100-way bra that can be transformed to tie pretty low in the back. The last option are nipple petals. I get it, I was scared of them at first too, but if you find the right ones that you can feel confident in, then you’ve got a backless, comfortable outfit you can feel sexy in for the rest of the night.

For me, the backless style is great way to show off a mix of quiet yet confident and classy yet sassy. If you don’t already own a comfortable backless shirt or dress, I suggest you try it out. Remember, being sexy should be about you and how you feel about yourself. Utilize other parts of your body to draw attention, and you’ll be leaving a party thinking, ”I’ll be back!”
